Every guard is built from the patient's own models or intraoral scan and finished to the occlusal registration, so contact is even across the arch and the surface is comfortable enough that the patient will actually wear it. We fabricate by thermoforming or 3D printing, depending on the material and design.
On hard and dual-laminate guards, the hard outer layer is a material we can build onto with acrylic — so we can add canine guidance, refine the occlusal table, and dial in a passive fit. For patients with ceramic restorations or implant-supported crowns, a well-fitted nightguard is smart insurance, absorbing and distributing bruxing forces overnight.

What nightguard materials and types do you offer?
We fabricate hard, hard/soft (dual-laminate), and soft occlusal guards, made by thermoforming or 3D printing. Hard and hard/soft are the most common choices for bruxism — on a hard/soft guard the soft inner layer relieves grinding pressure while the hard outer layer keeps the patient from grinding through to the teeth. A soft guard suits mild grinding or low-impact wear; a true sports guard is a separate, thicker product.
Can you add canine guidance or adjust the occlusion on a guard?
Yes. On hard and hard/soft guards the hard outer layer is a material we can build onto with acrylic, so we can incorporate canine guidance, refine the occlusal table, and dial in a passive, even fit — not just a blank splint.
Will a nightguard protect my patient's crowns and veneers?
Yes — a nightguard absorbs and distributes bruxing forces overnight, helping protect ceramic crowns, veneers, and implant-supported restorations from wear and fracture. We recommend one for any bruxer receiving e.max or zirconia work.
What is the turnaround on a nightguard?
Standard turnaround is about 5 business days in-lab from impression or scan receipt, and rush cases are available — call ahead. We make both upper and lower arches.
Can I submit a digital scan for a nightguard?
Yes. Upload an intraoral scan (STL or PLY) plus the occlusal or bite record through our digital cases page and we'll fabricate the guard from your scan — no model needed. Conventional impressions are also accepted.
